Cold Ethanol Extraction
Our manufacturing standard
Cold ethanol extraction — The industry benchmark for bioactive Acemannan
At Natural Aloe, manufacturing is not a processing step — it is the core of our science.
We use a proprietary cold ethanol extraction method, originally developed for pharmaceutical-grade Acemannan isolation. This non-thermal process preserves the full biological integrity of the Aloe vera leaf, setting the highest and unmatched industry standard.
Why extraction method matters
Acemannan — the primary bioactive polysaccharide found in Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller) — is responsible for aloe's immune, gut, and regenerative benefits among others.
Its effectiveness depends on:
- Molecular weight
- Structural integrity
- Degree of acetylation
- Preservation of natural co-factors
Most commercial aloe ingredients lose much of this activity during heat drying, enzymatic treatment, or charcoal filtration.

High degree of acetylation (>85%)
Acetyl groups are critical for Acemannan's immunomodulatory function. Heat and pH shifts strip these groups away. Cold ethanol extraction preserves them.
- Stronger immune signaling
- Enhanced macrophage activation
- Improved antioxidant activity
- Better tissue repair response
Lower-grade extracts often fall below 50% acetylation.
